3D visualization is a process where an idea is created as a computer model, then rendered to look like a real object.

The process begins with an artist creating a 3D mesh like the one pictured at the bottom left. As the process continues, texturing and image maps are applied to the mesh. Finally, the object can be manipulated within 3D space, and rendered as either an animated 3D movie, or as a still image.

Visualization is ideal for prototyping, architecture, fashion, etc...
